Mike Foley has a unique combination of business and industry experience for over 36 years that well qualifies him as an exceptional resource in providing client service in the specialized areas of research tax credits, depreciation/amortization and environmental issues, energy credits/deductions, and cost-segregation studies.

Mike has 18 years of industry experience as a process engineer and as a plant manager at mining, chemical, and petrochemical facilities in Europe, Canada and throughout the United States. He managed a research department for a Fortune 50 company and has had responsibility for numerous new plant construction and startup projects.

Mike has been involved with the research credit since its inception in 1981, and has worked depreciation/amortization issues for as many years. He also was a firmwide leader in the Tax Project Delivery practice of an international professional services firm for seven years, and has 10 years’ experience as an IRS Engineer and Valuation Group Manager, responsible for all aspects of Engineer Agent examinations. He has written IRS training modules and audit guides, and has instructed many training courses for IRS revenue agents, engineers and appeals officers.

Mike has also made presentations to business industry organizations such as the Tax Executives Institute and others.
