Sandy Hernandez, a Certified State/Local Income Tax Member (CMI) of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation (IPT), has over 15 years of experience providing clients with state income/franchise and sales/use tax compliance and consulting services. She has extensive experience in managing large tax return engagements for corporate and flow-through entities in various industries including entertainment, retail, manufacturing, financial services, professional services and real estate.

Sandy works with clients on tax refund opportunities and has identified and implemented tax planning and credit opportunities for various clients with multistate tax liabilities. She also has experience with taxing authorities handling state audits, and has performed due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions, nexus reviews and voluntary disclosures for clients. Sandy has also assisted clients in preparing and reviewing state tax provision calculations and documentation.

Before joining WTAS, Sandy was with two international professional services firms.

Sandy has appeared as a guest speaker at California State University, Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California Tax Institute.
